Travel Yukon

Discover Year-Round Beauty

Tourism Yukon’s website was rebuilt from the ground up to reflect the true beauty and versatility of the landscape, using up-to-date tourism strategy and interviews with real globe-trotters. We reimagined an online experience that engaged users while allowing them to organically explore the website, save & organize content with seamless access across all devices, plan trips, and discover itineraries created by local businesses in the Yukon.

Interactive Timeline

Wonder what it’s like to go dog sledding? Gold panning? Tour the Alaskan highway? A season based timeline takes viewers through POV videos, putting them in the driver’s seat and showing them what they’re missing.

Robust ecosystems were created to map the journey and touchpoints of entry points and path to the Travel Yukon Experience.

A completely redesigned experience from the ground up

Several user personas were created and developed to map content strategies and organization of the entire web site experience.

Yukon Stories

The Yukon is more than just picture-perfect scenery. Yukon stories is a series of short, in-depth documentary videos that show how the people of Yukon are just as captivating as the landscapes.

Visual Navigation

Packed with year-round beauty, there’s a lot to do in the Yukon. We wanted to show that off, in a visual way. After the primary navigation level, a full-screen take-over shows the secondary and tertiary levels as image tiles, giving the viewer a deeper connection while they explore the site.

Utilizing Google Maps

We utilized Google Maps API to give viewers an added level of interactivity in key areas throughout the website.

Itineraries

The itinerary pages offer pre-made trips and give users an overview of their future adventures as they scroll through the day’s activities.

Yukon Favourites

Visitors can save pages, packages, itineraries, and articles, allowing them to start planning on their laptop and continue on the go with a tablet or mobile device.

Local Businesses

Another key feature of the website is the ability for local businesses to have the means to build their own “mini sites” inside of the main Travel Yukon experience. They can post pictures, videos, maps, general info, all of the tours they offer, as well as their trip advisor ratings and reviews.
